Fundaţia Petros înfiinţat în 1995 prin ajutorul unor români din Melbourne şi a comunităţilor româneşti din Australia. Este o organizaţie non-profit, caritabilă, ce are ca obiectiv îmbunătăţirea calităţii vieţii populaţiei, prin lucrare medicală şi socială în Romania. Un număr de 8000-15000 de pacienţi beneficiază anual de medicamente şi consultaţii, la Clinica Petros.
Din anul 2003 lucrarea socială s-a extins şi spre comunitatea de ţigani din Bonţida.
EN - “The Petros Foundation, was incorporated in 1995 due to the help of a couple men and some Romanian Communities in Melbourne and Australia. It is a non-profit, charitable organization that is dedicated to improving the quality of life for people as a medical and social work in Romania. We focus our attention on those people who are poor and with any help. A number of 8000 – 15000 of patients receive annually medication, medical aids, and medical consultations at Petros Clinic.
We work also with a poor community of gipsies in Bontzida - Romania.”
